Giving directions.

How many of us still give directions when a person asks even though we have no idea where we're directing this person.
I do it, not sure why but just do. Saying "no I'm not sure" never even springs to mind.
A person asked me where the local taxi rank is this morning, me being clueless said "down by the traffic lights, turn left and it's a long that road somewhere"
I have no idea if what I said was right but just didn't even consider not giving directions.

Last night I was visiting my sister in Nascott Wood, on the outskirts of Watford. Its about half eleven at night
, and I get approached by some nutty looking bird on a push bike asking me, I wonder can you help, do you know where courtlands drive is. So I get out of the mercedes, open up google maps on the iphone, input the address, get the postcode,. and then while Im waiting to get the map downloaded she just looks at me and ssay, "this is taking far too long, I think Ill just take a chance down here...." tosses her head back, her wild freakish eyes, with the drool curling past her hideously misformed lips, and cycles off into the night!
