So I was just wondering, if you're a kid or you still live with your parents, or you have kids, are they spoilt? I don't want to make my list first for fear of flaming!
Go ahead PH!

GF's Kid is spoilt , but not because he has the most expensive toys.

He is spoilt because his Mum's life revolves around him and his constant whinging.

His mum is his provider, his litter bin, his clothes carrier, his food hamper, his shoe lace doer upper etc etc.

The other day i bought him a used coldbox for his den in the woods and then i found it lying around near my car.

Me: "What is that doing here, it is going to get driven over, why not put it in your den?"
Him: "It is too heavy, mum will move it"
Me: "Oh! i didn't realise it was too heavy for you to move, i will take it home if it is no good to you"

He looked around for his mum, realised she was not around and then picked up the cold box and carried it to his den, easily..

He will stand in the rain with no coat on and complain of being cold, knowing his mum will make a fuss of him. I just look at him like he is some kind of idiot and tell him to go put a coat on/get out of the rain and he does just that, with a cheeky grin.

Of course i can't do that if his mum is around, as i am being horrible and mean...

I wouldnt say Im really spoilt.

My parents say that if I want something I will have to save up and buy it myself (which I do).
My parents dont go out every weekend and buy me new clothes.
I pay for the insurance and fuel on my mums car.
I earn my money not by begging mum and dad, but by getting a job.
Im not bought games for the xbox or anything like that spontaniously.
Im not paid depending on results from school.

I guess im average...I think

I was lent the money to buy my first car and first years insurance. I thought that was being spoilt enough!

I wouldnt say im spoilt. I have an xbox, tv, computer, ipod and a phone, but the xbox was a birthday present and generally if i want a game or anything i pay for it, the tv was the old one from our kitchen. The computer is one ive just bought after working at The Golf Open in Sandwich, My ipod is a replacement christmas present as i originally got a touchscreen tablet which broke so we got the money back and i brought it off my brother and my phone is one of the very first Blackberrys simply because, i dont need a good phone, in any way, just need one to be able to text, and i pay for my own credit. If i do get money from my parents when i go out with mates, its just enough money to buy lunch, and no more, unless everybodys going out doing something, like the cinema or something, and then i will get just enough money for that too. On the whole, if i want something, generally i have to pay for it myself, and if its something i need, i get that paid by my parents. They said they will pay for my overalls and safey boots i need for college, but if i damage them, im paying for my own next time, which is fair enough i guess?

BTW, im 16, having just left school.

Sorry for the essay.

It's also an age thing. When I was a kid nobody had anything . The rich kid on my road was the one with the football.
Now everybody has to have everything. It is a real eye opener for me to see kids in my shop , they all have the latest phones for example. But for them it is quite normal.

A friend of mine , her 14 year old daughter had a hairdo , £125 ffs !

I don't beleive I am "spoilt" Just well looked after and supported.

I have been bought upto earn my own crust and pay rent but if need be I can be loaned money for any amount of time. Also things like motorbikes etc were bought for me, always had nice clothes , the best learning equipment (when at school), latest consoles , latest phones etc but the difference is I have never demanded such things, My parents have done very well for themselves in the Transport and Pharmaceutical Industries so obviously would not want me to go without anything I need to get on in life.

Personally I think defining a spoilt child is not to be judged by what they have and do but by how they treat their circumstances and how they recognise what they have got.

I realise I am very lucky to have the Moral support, finance, contacts, care and all round support from my family who all want me to achieve and excel in what ever I so choose to do.

Used to be a little spoilt (not completely wker-pampered) when I was younger - if I asked for something, and shouted a bit, I'd usually get it. However I like to think I was sensible and the only three things I remember pushing for was a Pokémon game (I was 12), a new computer, and some new swimming kit (I was a keen swimmer back in the day). When I turned 15 I decided to start making my own way and pretty much shunned my parents' support, which was a double-edged sword - nowadays I'm doing okay and I'm financially independant - so I'm content that I've done satisfactorily (I'm 21).

There's a kid I work with who is the biggest mummy's boy I've seen. He pays no rent at home, gets every meal made for him, waited on hand and foot, given a brand new Corsa etc. He had to spend six weeks on a customer base as part of the works training scheme - I did it a while back, no worries, loved it in fact. He gave up after three weeks and is back on site, much to the irritance of managers. There's a six-month offsite attachment that he has to do to and it'll be interesting to see if he can look after himself.

How do you define spoilt?

Kids who get whatever they want without question
Kids who contrive to get what the want by emotional blackmail
Kids who take what they want, and are not stopped.

And it this context 'what they want' also relates to a parents time and attention, but also stuff

Another thing - if you want your piss well and truly boiled, watch "Young, Dumb, and Living off Mum" - it's on iPlayer. Spoilt kids like you wouldn't imagine, and if you can watch a whole programme without wanting to throttle at least one of the kids, I'll buy you a beer.
