Saw around seven people dressed only in homemade pants today dragging a huge piece of chalk by the east cliff pavilion in Folkestone earlier this evening,I followed the drag line right down to the warren, where i spoke to someone about it, he said it was dragged from Dover. Anyone know anything about this.

A big piece of chalk being dragged in the road from Dover possibly into Folkestone through the warren by seven or so men dressed in a piece of cloth.

I seem to remember as a kid being told that if you draw a chalk circle around a beetle (or some other bug) it can't leave because it won't cross the chalk? If that's the case then are these people just trying to make half the country bug free?

Wouldn't the piece of chalk have to be rather huge to still be noticeable after being dragged over any kind of distance?

Are you sure it wasn't just a car pulling a caravan?
