I live on the N. Hampshire / Berkshire border & whilst it's lovely, I do often think that I would like to live somewhere else in the UK for a change, as, save for a few years in London, I have lived in Hampshire since I was about 14.

I would love to spend a few years in Cornwall for the relaxed pace of life and proximity to the sea. Equally, Shropshire appeals to me greatly due to the lovely market towns, quiet roads and comparitive lack of people.

ETA. Mods - I've been a dullard & posted in the wrong forum!! Could you please move this to The Lounge?

It would depend entirely on how I earned a living. I made my move a few years ago - left London and now live in Bath and can't see us moving away from here for a few decades.

I'm on the border of East Berks and Surrey and quite happy here. The only move within the UK I'd want to make would be West and South a bit into a Wiltshire/Somerset village a stone's throw from Bath, ideally between there and Bristol.

This suits: http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/prope...

As does this: http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/prope...

The Orkney or Shetland Islands. A nice piece of architecture with a workshop to build stuff, looking out over the sea. Well out the way of everyone, so no one can annoy me.

I wouldnt want to move tbh. I dont live in a particually 'nice' area, but i couldnt actually imagine myself moving away to live somewhere else. On the other hand, i love travelling and go all over the country (and europe) as often as i can.

If I didn't have to get anywhere for work, Scotland or Cornwall. Better driving in Scotland, better weather in Cornwall.

quite happy here near York, but would ideally move somewhere a touch further away from 'civilisation' a bit further north and bit hillier

staying near enough to the A1 and/or ECML

Rural Oxfordshire I think. Much as I love the lakes the weather is filthy.

I live in Poole in Dorset, I wouldn't want to live outside of Dorset really, but wouldn't mind living in the countryside about 20 minutes away.

North of Ullapool, it's the best road I know and I really like Ullapool.
Of course in summer when you get eaten alive by midgies I may yearn to be back on the East coast.
