Chaps,

I'd like to swap from a philishave to a safety razor and am thinking along the lines of a stylish Merkur recommendations and advice?

Thanks

Wilkinson Sword protector range are very good. The wires across the blades make it impossible for the smallest of fingers to get an ouchy.

I've got the Futur, and am very pleased with it. Adjustable too.

Thanks chaps so are these old razors simple to disassemble?

Am thinking If I like this manual shaving I'll have the razor blackened and maybe have the blade gold Titanium nitrided!

I gave up electric for wet shaving but someone recommended the Panasonic ERSF-31. Only cost about £35. At last, an electric razor that is as good as a wet shave.

Dissassembly is trivial. Undo the screw thing on thr end and it will literally fall to bits.

No point in getting the blade done, you will change blades about every 3 shaves and I guess it could be fairly expensive. (unless I need a woosh parrot smile)

They are disposable, don't bother.
