Dear entire world,

It's spelt 'lose'. L.O.S.E.!, as in lose, losing, lost.

You can't loose something, you can only loosen it.

You can make something loose if you want, simply untighten it.

By all means hang loose, bust loose and make loose.

Don't lose the plot, don't lose heart, just lose the extra 'o'.

Hope this clears it up once and for all.

Yours Sincerely

loser

(I am a loser, not a looser!)

Using it as an example... You can let loose something. I let loose my dogs in the park.

that's letting loose

you can't loose a thing

I loosen
you loosen
he/she/it loosens
we loosen
they loosen

there is no verb 'to loose'

only 'to lose'

please, you're not helping here!

It would be much easier to take your spelling direction seriously if your posts weren't so grammatically hideous.

Sorry, just it annoys me when people misquote Shakespeare, or Christopher Plummer in Star Trek.

You can 'loose an arrow' - you do not 'let loose an arrow' - and if your aim is bad then you can 'lose an arrow'.
