Anyone got any recommendations? The item is probably 6'x 3'x 2' and weighs 30-40kg. It'd be a 600 mile round trip for me, with the trailer as it won't fit in the car.

Try a website called shipley.co.uk You get quotes from couriers who are passing your pick-up and drop-off points on their way back from another job, that kind of thing, so the costs are really low. I got quotes for getting a car transported that were half what the fuel cost would have been for me to drive it.

Cheapest way?

If you already own a rope, tie that round it and drag the thing.

If you don't own a rope, you'll have to push

This. Have used it a number of times and can even get cheaper quotes outside of Shiply once you get the cheapest bloke's email address. Oh and to save you time and money, here it is... jimfazackerley@btinternet.com

Strap it to a pallet and get a pallet company to pick up and take it - maybe www.interparcel.com

Thats nothing, I managed to get some poor soul on shiply to shift something weighing 250Kg! But I had to offer double the usual price to get any interest.

60Kg should be fine, although I do find it funny the way delivery drivers seem totally outraged that you could possibly need something 'that heavy'. I had a 50Kg item delivered the other day - you should have heard him complaining! lol

Even though I have a suitable rope already, the £85 that the 600 mile round trip would cost in diesel, not to mention time, makes it pretty damn expensive!
Completely forgot about shiply, have used them in the past so will try them. I will try the local courier suggested too. I'm hoping to get it shifted for less than £50, what are the chances d'ya reckon?

That depends, do you want wild or domesticated?

Domesticated, of course, but you will have to import it yourself.
