Does anybody still buy / read FHM, Loaded, Maxim.....
Discussion
Evening,
I still have a huge pile of these in my garage dating back to the mid 90's, up until about 2006 IIRC. I used to read them religiously and was wondering since I'm now cancelling my EVO subscription does anybody still read them and are they worth a punt anymore for a bit of a giggle?
The lounge actually reminds me of them in a way, maybe that's why I stopped buying them.

Step-son (15) buys FHM. He was most pissed off before Christmas when I refused to buy if for him to read in the car next to his 6 year old sister. Told me he reads it for the fashion so bought him GQ instead!

I often made the mistake of buying GQ, too high brow for me (at the time)!

Not to read, but some probably buy them as they're too poor or stupid for access to web porn and are too afraid of the newsagent to buy Razzle. 1995-2000 seemed to be the peak of the 'lads mags' in terms of writing quality, after that it was a race to the bottom(and tits) via illiterate scrawling about drinking your weight in alcohol, stuff blatantly stolen off teh internetz, reader provided 'content' and pictures of sub page 3 blart with no clothes on. Pretty depressing now I've typed it out really.
I used to buy FHM when I was 16/17/18. As much as they like to think otherwise, that is their demographic.
90% of it is f
king adverts anyway.
Nuts and Zoo still very much exist. They're OK for a 2 minute giggle but that's about it. My wife has recently had work published in both; I read the free copies

I read the free copy in the barbers
Used to buy the FHM top 100 every year, but then there was a point where I hadn't heard of the majority of girls in the top 20, and Louise Redknapp/Sarah Gellar/Rachel Stevens had become a bit too middle age for my vote to count anymore against some teenybopper sensation.
They rarely have an article I want to read in depth (the piece on 4Chan/lulsecs & the piece on the drug trade in Ibiza were the last good bits)
Talking of the "modelz" I heard from an pro agency that Nuts/Zoo have shafted them. There's now a million vacuuous teens that will "get them out" in Nuts in the hope that it will launch their career ala Katie Price / Keeley Hazell so they don't need to pay them. Whereas pro models want paying unsurprisingly.

Haven't bought any magazines at all in years. I stopped buying them regularly when I realised I could get all the same information for free, and better, online. I stopped buying them altogether as kindle/iPad made them obsolete for me - don't need paper magazines to kill time traveling now either.
