Looking for an altenative to Piloti Prototipo and just fount out Sparco have released a new driving shoe.

Im just wondering if anyone has tried or seen them in the flesh. Are they a trainer or a cut down racing boot that you can't walk too far in?

I think the black looks more subtle that the other colours.

Agreed, the others do look a bit "speshul".

They're nice, might have a look at them when (if) my Pumas wear out.

Hmmmmm, a choice of driving shoe? Is that what you're suggesting?

Get some Onitsuka Tigers. Same effect, more comfortable, more wearable in a variaety of social settings and better quality.

Mine make brilliant driving shoes and are very comfortable for walking etc too.

I have Sparco Kart boots that are quite good, Sparco mechanics trousers that are very poor for fit and quality and Sparco pit trainers that are the worst tat Ive ever had the misfortune to wear.

Look pretty cool, but if they're anything like the Puma efforts, they're not really driving shoes. They're trainers, with stoating hard, not-very-flexible rubber soles, that kinda miss the whole point of driving shoes.
But Puma (I am assuming speedcats) are basically cut down race boots, they are not trainers. The hard, not-very-flexible rubber soles are exactly what you get on a race boot.

Im looking for something with some extra cushioning, that don’t make you look like a wannabe racing driver when you are not in the car.

My race boots have very soft soles on them, nothing like the hard rubber soles on the speedcats.
Same here. It's like being barefoot when you walk any distance in them.

These are my Pumas:

Very comfy, very good for driving and just look like smart suede trainers.

They are, but aren't (in my experience) built for the long-term.

These were mine after about six months use in the Caterham:

The Pumas shown above are about a year old now and still look as good as new.
