Oil of clove is pretty damned effective at short term relief. Pharmacy in the morning.

wink Not that hard. Maybe you're still in the book place for a reason?

Me - Professional insomniac, especially when it isn't a school night & the odd couple of liveners are involved.

You - Library at this time of night confused Far, far too conscientious, moreso if you've submitted a dissertation. You really ought to be in a club (and/or in somethingone).

Youth of today - tsk biggrin

Thank you Sir! I'd forgotten the title of the thread and my limited enthusiasm for everything at this hour vastly outweighed trying to find it. Sorry!

Yes, my university has a library that's open 24hs during the exam season. So there's somewhere for us caffiene fuelled work-dodgers to attempt to adhere to our deadlines. It's relatively quiet at these hours compared to during the day where you'd be hard pushed to find a place to stand, let alone a computer to work at. That and my silly student sleep pattern resulting in my being here so late.

Alas I would love to be out clubbing as well as the latter you so eloquently put hehe. But my lovely lecturers decided that two essays for my final remaining units, directly after our 15k word dissertations was an excellent idea.

So with the least possible motivation to work. I'm trying to get everything done!

In a hotel room in Vegas, taking a bit of time out to browse PH while the wife gets ready before we hit the strip for some cocktails. Next stop, Bellagio fountains.

Not so misery-inducing wink

Excellent, nice to hear some positivity smile.

The Bellagio fountains are excellent, you're in for a treat! Make sure you see the volcano themed fountain as well!

It's 3:30am here! And I'm sitting in a library that smells like feet and Red-Bull. Swap?

Also, turns out there's some pretty odd charatchters in a library at these hours.

Our limo went past the fountains on the night we got here and we've seen them through the day but they look truly spectacular at night with all the lights on. Fountains first, then off to Paris for a few drinks. Have got the volcano on my list!

9:50pm just west of Chicago - sitting waiting for the next round of storms to pass through. Weather was never this extreme back home. Lots of popping and banging going on. :-(

Presumably exam season starts early these days - my exam season was night before each one (which probably explains my lack of cheesy superstar photos).
Unless your deadline is tomorrow, tying to compose what will presumably be well informed cack never works at this ungodly hour. I'd recommend a night off, but you've left it a touch late.

As an elder & better smile, I'm wagging that finger and telling you to go home, get a takeaway (plus post it in the thread you probably won't be able to find either hehe) and sink a few cheeky ones. Unless, of course, sitting in a sweaty library @ hurtling towards 4am is your way of getting powerfully built, multiple D respect/kudos/money/2" wang etc thumbup

Unfortunately I have two essays, both 3k words. One for Tuesday, one for Friday. I'm about 1300 words into essay one for Tuesday. And have worked up a plan of the one for Friday. So I'm desperately trying to get to 1500 before I sleep so I can have this essay seen off tomorrow in order to allow some time for my next one.

Haha I'm a firm follower of the dirty take-away thread! Posted a couple of my monstrosities in there! The only reason I'm in here is I'm pushing for a first. So hopefully my dedication to being in a sweaty library will pay off hehe

Come this friday, my entire course will have finished their courswork and lectures, and there's a few weeks or so before exams start. So it's definitely an incentive to work for!

Good man - sloppy kebab should be your reward (although at this hour, you may be heading towards either a MacD or Tesco brekkie). However, a one-er is a bit serious - real men don't do that smile

Get the Tuesday one out of the way & give us the subject for t'other. I'm sure that someone here will be able to give you a 1k start, even as a rant. If I were you, I'd just be starting my 10k essay about now, but then I'll probably chance being late for my personal worm charming eternity.

I think I have gout in my ankle and it's kept me awake most of the night. I occasionally get in in my big toe which isn't that bad, but this is making it very awkward to get around the house.

Don't know about driving to work tomorrow either at the moment, as it's my right one.

I think you'd find a friend in my coursemate. He managed to get 8k words done, full proof read, printed and bound all in one night. Of course he had a good 5k already done. But I thought 8k words in one night was mighty impressive.

He celebrated by prompltly passing out on the nearest soft object as soon as we hit the club to celebrate. Poor kid had been up for nigh-on 45 hours!
