Hobbies that don't cost anything?

Hi all. I'm looking at taking up a new hobby to pass some time but all the ones I can think of can end up costing quite a bit to do, anybody got any thoughts regarding any cheap/free hobbies?
Would be interesting to hear your responses.

Hobbies come in different forms, stuff you can do any time, anywhere, stuff that's outside, or weekends only etc.

Depends what your broader interests are of course.

Hill walking/rambling has got to be one of the cheapest once you've got a decent pair of shoes. Good scenery, free to do and good exercise.

Can be exppensive, or can be done with a free camera phone. Just need to be creative.

Weve just taken up walking, hill climbing in the evening and weekends. Obviously this depends on where you live, were fortunate enough to live around 10 miles from the Preseli mountains so plenty of opportunities. Not the most exciting hobby in the world but it gets us off our arses in front of the tv and laptops and the views are amazing and well worth the effort.
