Iphone 4 has a little red light next to the camera that lights up when you take a pic I think. I would check but I dropped the phone in the bath last week

The reflections of the car windows and road with white markings in the upper right quarter of the photo, and the orientation of these objects, suggests that the red and grey bits are reflections of something that looks like cloth lying in the seat next to the photographer. Doesn't explain the red but if you can work out what was on the back seat at the time it may give a clue.

Edit sorry just read post above and realised mine doesn't conform to the known facts.
