I shipped 4x 17" wheels with tyres on from Nottingham to Aberdeen for just over £30 about a year ago:
http://www.interparcel.com/ (Economy option, 48hrs collection to delivery)
To get a quote you need dimensions and weight of one (parcel) then x 4
UPS actually collected and delivered them..........excellent service

+1, you're unlikely to get it much cheaper. Nowadays, if you send them by UPS 48hr through Interparcel it'll be £38. That service will almost certainly deliver them next day - but do not under any circumstances be tempted into using one of the cheaper ones (here or on parcel2go or other brokers). The brown icons on Interparcel are all delivered by UPS and I would stick to these.http://www.interparcel.com/

Yes,i often see double posts from people and they then blame their phone,i wonder to myself how it can happen.
Well it's happened to me,still don't know how it happens.
Anyway,on the expensive side yes but you do know where Inverness is don't you? When couriers see the post code the price usually doubles on everything.

Heh, the funny thing was that they're two hours apart!
Anyway, 'course I know where Inverness is
and UPS will deliver there for the price I mention above as well, no bother. They only treat proper Highlands as a separate pricing!
I did once have a guy in Wick wanting to buy from me. That didn't price up too well!

Funnily enough just sent a wheel to a guy in Lincoln, though distance within UK makes no difference. Booked it all Monday (Bank Holiday) evening and they collected it Tuesday at 09:15 and delivered it to him Wed afternoon. It was just packed in a black dustbin sack taped up with gaffer tape and address label on it. Weighed 12 kilos and the grand total, all in for everything was, wait for it, £5.85 plus VAT. Yes really a grand total of £7.02 went from my bank.
I did it all on www.interparcel.com and chose the cheapest courier which on this occasion was Hermes and they were brilliant.

Heard good and bad things about paisleyfreight - and I did have a bad experience with them once, but services like that vary.
From what I've heard interparcel's customer service is decent (better than parcelmonkey, the other easy courier site), I've used Inter many, many times now without flaw.

Anything over 25kg needs lifting equipment (or two men), y'see, as apparently courier drivers shouldn't be expected to lift heavy things. Not that that's half the job description or anything
If the wheels are that light, you can beat that price through Interparcel - their UPS drivers will take 24kg packages at the same £7.99+VAT, so two of those and you're done

They might be expected to carry, but more than 25kg? Day-in day-out that's a pretty big ask for an industry that employs so many.

Doing something wrong maybe.Anyway, they all advertise UK shipping for set prices but once the post code goes in the price shoots up usually.
Doesn't matter anyway,my wheels are here waiting for new tyres now.
