irish lightning!?

Last night, reading a thread on here (can't remember which one) and my battery died

But I remember a phrase "Irish lightning" being used

Can anyone explain it? I've had a google, something about a boxers nickname, nothing car related...

Spontaneous automobile combustion, but it can also mean the mysteriously vanishing into thin air, along with the spare set of keys...! It's a mysterious phenomenon and not much is know about it, but it often happens with high value vehicles, heavily secured with expensive credit and a an owner with buyers remorse or recent redundancy.
