Royal Mail Standard? could be anywhere between three days and six weeks, if at all.

frown

I just literally went into the post office and said 'I'd like to send this letter to Mexico', they weighed it and charged me £2 - I wasn't presented with any other options else i'd of taken a speedier one :<

They aim for five to seven working days... so posted on Wednesday last week puts you in a delivery slot of Wednesday to Friday this week.

You are of course in the hands of Mexican postal services...

We sometimes send parcels to my brother in the states via air mail. Sometimes he gets the parcel within 10 days, other times he is still waiting for it 4 weeks later. Doesn't matter if we send two at the same time, they turn up at random times it seems. £20 per parcel usually, all because he wants some salad cream and black jacks!

which state does he live in?

this area is a fairly dodgy area of Mexico so who knows!

Cheaper for him to buy in the US as a bulk import:

Did you put a "Par Avion" sticker on the envelope? If not, it may have gone by boat.

Did you shout Andele Andele Arriba Arriba when you handed over the £2?

You should always do this for Mexico bound mail.

Good luck. Royal mail couldn't get a letter from Cardiff to the Wirral (im still waiting over 5 weeks!) so the chances of them getting one from England to Mexico are slim.

Letter to Australia was about a week, so to Mexico - 3 days, maybe 5?

I often send things to the US, it takes 7-10 days on average to get there. I occasionally send the same things to Canada, they take from 2 weeks to never to get there, Australia 1-2 weeks. Distance is irrelevant, it's down to the recieving country's postal service.

We regularly send envelopes to Australia, US and all over Europe, sometimes South America. They can take any amount of time, depends on where they are in their country, the local mail service, customs and when the flight over takes place.

Sent items in the last month: to Sao Paolo that took 4 days, one to Sydney that took 4 days, one to LA took 2 weeks and one to France they claim wasn't received.
