But, its perfectly acceptable to pick up your phone and go onto Facebook and tag yourself when your out for a meal.

Hate, hate, HATE 'tagging' on Facebook. It is like saying "LOOK AT ME! LOOK AT ME! I HAVE ACTUALLY GONE OUT FOR ONCE AND HAVE A SOCIAL LIFE".

This seems to be true for the users of such a feature. They have no life, and never do anything interesting when they do actually do something. Those of us who do go out, have active social lives, and go to interesting places don't need to boast about it on Facebook...

You're right. Although the no life and actually gone out for once arguement is negated if you're constantly tagged in different places doing different things with different people.

Look at me look at me things right though. But isn't that exactly what social networking is about now? I'd say 80% of my feed is "look at me/look at what I've got/let me tell you why I'm better than you" type posts.
