There seems to be an unusually large contingent of folk, speaking some kind of Scandinavian type language, in London today. Is this just coincidence, or is there a conspiracy of some description going on?

Could be Christmas shopping? Due to the high taxes here in Norway (and Denmark too, perhaps Sweden) it's often cheaper to have a mini-holiday and buy enough stuff that the savings more than pay for the flight ticket. Or you just think all the different languages sound like a Scandinavian one! biggrin

If you here something like:

Hvorfor er det den merkelig mann å lytte til oss?

Then you know they're Norwegian, biggrin

This, my wife's Icelandic family all pile over in droves in November/December to spend a small fortune.

I got to the bottom of it. I asked some Scandinavian sounding girls, in one of the bars I was in, what was occurring. They pretty much said what you guys suspected.

If you find any more then you should say "du er deilig". If they're Danish then they'll probably say thanks. If they're Norwegian you either get slapped/ lucky, biggrin

Maybe Germans? Did they say something like "Ich würde gerne den Aal eines muskulös gebauten Geschäftsführers, der einen Kinnbart trägt, in den Mund nehmen?"
