Need ideas for a Christmas present for my 10 year old son, budget about £100 (+- a little) but nothing connected with games, apps etc. Bike & scooter already in his growing garage and he cannot reach the pedals on a MX5 yet. Also no coke or hookers!!!

any of these, even better if you buy 2 so he can 'war' with his mates when they come over:

Decent Remote control car?

I got my first, A Tamiya Lunchbox when i was about 10, you should be able to get something similar for about £100 depending on how much you want to spend on the motor and Remote control.

Like This.....

I might have to buy myself one actually!

Thanks guys

Like the camper, although he builds Lego then tends to not play with it once built. Nerf armoury already in place (love them!)

I had a Grass hopper II Super G after the lunchbox!

Battery life wise i used to get about 10 minutes per charge from memory, but had a quick charger that only took half an hour and also a couple of spare battery packs so no downtime!

I did have a plane at one point, self build balsa wood jobby, only flew it a few times, and then hit a tree...dead. Wouldn't recommend one for a 10 year old...unless secretly this is a ploy to get you a toy!

Tamyia kits start at about £60 on ebay, battery, fast charger all about £10 each, motors all start about £5, controllers about £20, that's all new so should be doable in budget.

This:

My 7 year old got one for his birthday. It's a quality little truck, spares easily available which is useful. 3 hours to charge, maybe 30 mins runtime.

I had loads of lego when I was a child.

We used to spend more time building our own creations from the huge pile of accumulated parts from all the sets.

Loads more fun than just building the one on the box.

Mind you from what I can gather, there are a lot more individual model specific bits in now so that's not as easy.
