When I was a kid going on holiday we knew we were almost there when "the water tower" came into view.

What landmarks do you remember? What landmarks do you like to look at even now?

By the way...is the wishbone still hanging off Shippams clock in Chichester does anybody know?

Anybody else in Nottingham look out for Fothergill Watson's monkey?

We're starting a project in Huddersfield tomorrow, so on each site visit I can look at Emley Moor TV Tower in the distance.

This I like smile

I can vouch the wishbone is hanging off the Clock in Chichester. My own landmark as a child was the illuminated Lucozade sign alongside the elevated A4 on the way into London.

Think it's gone now but the "lightning" jet by side of the A1nr to Newark always made me smile.

Can't recall seeing it. A bit further down I always look at the Harrier at Wittering.

Me too. I grew up in Ossett and Horbury Bridge so it was my compass when I got lost somewhere on my travels.
When I go up the M1 and the mast comes into view I get that warm feeling of being 'home'

Spookily I've always loved that bridge, even before the grafitti. The bridge somehow looks older than the road. Could the the M25 actually have been so lucky to find a bridge through which to fit?
