It's raining justnow.

I'll update this tomorrow morning, more than likely with a broken bone.

Came out of my apartment in Harrogate this morning, put my foot on the top step and the next thing I know I'm flat on my back on the path, 3 steps below... it hurts.

The car looked like a ball of solid ice.

Same story here in Leeds. Thought our private parking area was just wet with rain, same for the car, but it's all 2mm solid ice. eek

Raining here, on an otherwise fantastic day in paradise cloud9

Interestingly the radio is full of reports of halfwits crashing on the ice as rain is falling on frozen/cold ground this morning, who'd have guessed the rain might freeze on the cold ground.

....Darwinism at work again.

My actual house was frozen up with ice this morning.

I unlocked and unbolted the front door, turned the handle and nothing. At first thought the lock was broken but it turned out it had just frozen shut with the sleet and freezing fog getting into the cracks I guess.

quite mild here.. just wet and grey.

No traction at a slightly up hill junction on the way to work. Spinning the inside wheel quite easily pulling out of there... Thats when I know its slippy because I have a Honda and normally it wouldn't pull the skin of a rice pudding, let alone break traction.

Good run this morning - motorway was slow and steady. It seems everyone had the same careful idea. Everyone except one BMW who, at the point where lane 1 becomes an off-ramp, he sped up in lane 2, headed to lane 3, to get past a lorry, then swerved in front of lorry from lane 3, to 2 and by this time lane one was an offramp so drove over a huge portion of white zig-zags back into lane 1 just missing the barriers.

Those zig-zags could well have been uber-icey, so luck was on his side as he was tonking by that point. Buffoon.

Council car park is also a total ice rink, but steady as you go and all was well (lesson learnt from last week jester)!

Drive safely peeps - looks wet, often is ice.

In Leeds and exactly the same. Chiselled the ice of the car once I picked myself off the floor. Then realised probably not the best idea taking the mid engined RWD car out, it probably wouldn't have got out without harm, so hurried the mrs along so we could all go together in the family bus

It was a balmy 9 degrees on the way in to work this morning, pissing down with rain though. It's been raining since about 3 o'clock this morning and all the drains have been overwhelmed by it, more flooding on the way by the looks of it!

It's the same here, could make for an interesting drive home at 0100 if it freezes over, my commute is 6 miles of country lanes.
