I put better so that if we get caught on this thread, at least there's a consolation prize.

Sat eating my full english I just cooked with burnt toast because she insists on having the toaster setting on maximum at all times! furious She reckons you're supposed to stand and watch for when the toast is ready.

What do you and your OH or anybody you live with consistently disagree on?

only put as much water in the kettle that you need for the cuppage at hand, what's the point in waiting ages for a full kettle to boil only for it to go cold again?

Good one. I have a thing about looking inside kettles to make sure there's no nasty surprises waiting for me. The other morning I found a dead spider in there. Couldn't believe my OCD-ness paid off. Always check yer kettles, folks!

Agreed, but when you've emptied it top it up to minimum and leave it - that way you slightly warm the water with the energy you've wasted on a previous boil, reducing the waiting time if you have another cuppa before it goes stone cold!

My Mrs has a thing about locking her smartphone so it won't switch from portrait to landscape mode... So annoying!

Soaps on the TV, which she apparently watches whilst simultaneously surfing Facebook on her iPhone. I have no choice but to surf myself.

toilet seat up or down, she needs it down, i need it up, who's right?????? she doesn't lift it up for my convenience when she's finished

When i get my next extension done (walk in gun room, 'proper' cinema room as opposed to a converted bedroom, lads games room, gym, bigger dogs room, wine cellar a couple of extra bedrooms and a bigger laundry) the bogs will be getting a stand up trough fitted.

That'll learn her......

A close friend and I will never agree on efficient-market hypothesis. We can argue for hours about it but have agreed that we'll never agree. You know what women are like. wink

House heating, gets so hot I am in T-shirt and shorts. If you are cold, stick more layers on, there is only so much you can take off if you are too hot!!

There's some great links to the free radicals produced by burnt food and cancers. You should summarise them for your partner. "Daily Mail", her into lowering the settings.

My wife thinks that passing more than one car in an overtake is dangerous, regardless.

Also car heating. It's great that dual-zone climate control is finally filtering down from executive class cars.

leaving lights on in uninhabited rooms, why????? right, IR sensors for the extension instead of light switches

it generally boils down to efficiency, wimminz generally have a list of things that are and aren't important, if it isn't on the important side to them then they just don't care about wasting things, like overfilling the kettle, extra lights and so forth.

And what is it with having the heating on full and then "airing the house out because it's a bit stuffy" AAAAArgh

"we've paid for this heat, just open a door up and let it go elsewhere in the house rather than out the window"

This.

Also she wont check windows are shut first before she wacks the heating up as it's cold, she also wacks the heating up to 25 as it "heats the house quicker" and she frequently forgets to turn it back down so I come home to a suana. The heating is always on and set to around 18, I tell her if she is cold to turn it up one notch, that doesn't work apparently.

Misted up screen in her car, I tell her rather than wipe it with a dirty cloth and leaving smear marks all over the inside of the screen, put the A/C on and direct it at the screen and it'll clear in a matter of minutes, I've even shown her, nope it doesn't work for her apparently.

Leaving the front door wide open when she takes our elderly and disable dog out for his evening wee walk out the front, the heating clicks in and we are now heating the whole street, "oh I'm only gone a few minutes, stop moaning", is the response, arghhhhhh!!

Her driving, she is constantly moaning that her C3 has crap fuel consumption, "it does dear, because of the way you drive" she drives like she stole it, everywhere, she holds on to gears and changes at least 1000 revs too late, 50mph in third!! She doesn't anticipate traffic lights or slow traffic ahead so she zooms up to a line of traffic or red lights and then brakes really hard to a stand still, I tell her to coast up as chances are the lights would have changed before she gets there, nope she doesn't, it does my head in.

My ex-housemate had somehow 'trained' his gf to put the toilet seat back up when she had finished with it. Maybe she was considerate, seeing as it was a house with 2 guys in and when she was there, 1 girl, so the majority need it up? If only all women thought like that!

My housemate has the toaster on max for burnt toast. She puts it back to normal people settings when finished though. I have seen her sometimes forget to change it from my setting though so her toast is underdone, but mine is ner overdone. She does the half filling the kettle thing though, which annoys me! Especially as it's me paying the leccy bills. It's a waste of time as well, I don't get the logic in it.
