Blindingly obvious advert footnotes/small print
Discussion
I have just watched the an advert for the Fiat 500 where it depicts cars being driven down an Italian beach, into the sea then emerging on the shore of the UK.
Nothing wrong with that, but I noticed some small print when seeing the car submerge: "Fiction. Do not attempt."
I'm sure they have to cover themselves for fear of being of sued, but how stupid would someone have to be to believe their Fiat 500 can be used as a submarine!
I'm sure there are plenty of other examples - warnings on KP nuts "contains nuts" is another which springs to mind.
I couldn't find anything previously posted about this, so over to PH for more examples!

I saw this last night and was going to post the same thing at some point. Its a sad reflection on the sheer stupidity of some people - I can just imagine some dozy bint trying to drive through a flood, then going "but they did it on the advert innit!" when the thing fills with water and borks
Stuff like this makes me laugh, I always wonder how stupid the advertising people think the general public are?!
That said, I believe a lady in america Sued the manufactures of her microwave after she killed her cat by microwaving it.
Her reasoning was, she dried her cat in the oven for years (I know!) and when she bought a new fangled microwave 'oven' there was no warning against putting fluffy in to dry off.
I may have dreamt that one, but Im sure it happened!

Not quite what you were asking, but I was in New York a while back and listening to the radio. They were advertising some diabetic pill or something - all about its rejuvenating qualities, soft music, lots of benefits. There then followed an intense and rapidly spoken health warning rattled off at the end which included the phrase 'may cause death' right at the end.
You had to be there.
It was very funny.
