Trouble with Parcel companies

So i booked in two separate parcels 10 days ago & neither has been collected. I've been on to Interparcel who have online help. Parcel Monkey however, do not. Infact it says on there webste YOU CANNOT CALL US DIRECTLY?. When i looked it up in the help section.

My first parcel has been booked in 3 times but not collected? Every time i complain they say "this service is not guaranteed". So what the hell have i paid them to do? (make excuses & con me)
The second parcel looks like its on its 2nd failed attempt with the only option to rebook & hope!. I cant believe that you can pay a company to do something & they cant be made accountable to actually do the job i paid them for.

The bloke waiting for his stuff is getting pretty annoyed & so am i. Am i completely powerless?
Is there anything i can do about these cowboys?

Go to the post office, the clue is in the name.

There's two ways I do postage, either bring it to a post office, or if it is something big, or heading to somewhere else in the world, or needs to be fast, then I'd go to a DHL depot, and hand it over the counter.

The depot bit isn't as important, it's just they have an attached "service point". You can sometimes find these service points in other places, I'm sure a Rymans stationery shop had one.

Parcel companies are a law unto thier self just have a look at the terms and conditions, you will probably need a legal team to unravel them.

I recently had an email saying we could not deliver a parcel as no one was home to sign for it, could we go to the depot and collect.

Now it was at my company address with 30 staff on site all day and a fully manned reception we open at 7.30 am till 7.00 pm, I returned this infomation in an email to the courier company asking why the driver could find nobody at home??
Next day parcell arrived but no infomation as to what happened!!
