Me and my partner are amicable and want to get divorced. No finance involved etc. Can you do a "DIY " divorce and file the paperwork with the courts yourself?

Yep, did it here too. Went through the forms together, gave her a cheque, and that was it.

That's not the PH way of doing it I'm afraid.

It needs to involve expensive lawyers, hiding assets, bitter acrimony, pages and pages of confessions, your full life story, accusations and counter accusations of cheating, handing over large amounts of your salaries, setting the kiddies up against each other, a lifetime of debt and paying extortionate amounts of maintenance, losing the marital home, suicide attempts etc.

Or you could do it your way, good luck.

Seems it can be done for under £25 these days. Where's the romance, eh? whistle

Despite the name, they are actually very good and straightforward to use. Mine cost more than £25 though!

My ex-Wife and I used them for our amicable divorce in 2007.

You still need to pay the court fee of c.£400.
I've just done it myself, was straightforward and saved myself £1000's in the process.
