Irony:

Irony is when the thread I started about stupid things salesmen say gets locked after 37 pages because of stupid things salesmen say.

Anyone got any other examples...

Allen Carr, author of stopping smoking book died of lung cancer.

I wonder if he would've died earlier if he hadn't stopped?

A black fly in your Chardonnay maybe? wink

Anyway, a good few years ago there was a truck carrying fire extinguishers locally that crashed, went on fire and was destroyed. Pity Morissette didn't hear about it though!

Ironic - writing a song about irony when you clearly don't know what irony is.

Using the word "ironic" far more than you should, usually to describe something that is "surprising" in an effort to make yourself sound more intelligent but achieving the exact opposite result.

The word literally, is literally misused in a similar fashion.
