Very sad story on Jeremy Vine show

I've just been listening to Jeremy Vine and realised just how lucky most of us are. Lately I've been moaning and getting stressed about cars, work and various other things that, when you think about it, are not really that important in the overall scheme of things. Yet there are people out there with real problems.

The story I have just been listening to made me realise this and appreciate just how good I've got it, loving family, beautiful and fantastic wife, gorgeous, funny and healthy kids, nice house and cars etc.

The story is about Kelli Smith, a 5 year old girl who is trying to beat cancer (specifically, Neuroblastoma) and needs a lot of money for special treatment. Her Dad has also been diagnosed with a tumor on the brain and will not get to see his daughter grow up, even if she beats the cancer. He just read out a part of a letter he has written for her to open when she is older, and it broke my heart.

Through the tears in my eyes, I have just donated to the charity and then I called my family to say how much I love them. Please do the same and help this poor family and help let Tom (her Dad) know that his daughter can afford her treatment before he has to leave her.

Yup health is number one and all the rest is well not really very important. Went through some grim family times recently and it puts all car woes into perspective especially when the life of a young child hangs in the balance! Look after your health!
