Following on from the “show us your garage” and “show us your tools” threads I wondered how many of us had their own website.
Over the past month I have been off my legs with a torn ankle ligament and have been bored stupid sitting around. So I thought I would learn some new skills like building a web site and Photoshop.
My website is up and running now and I thought I would share the result and wondered how many people on here also have their own websites?

Love the velocette buzzer. My old man restored a venom about 12 years ago and I still have the scars on my knee from trying to kickstart when it kicked back and launched me into the garage roof!! My old man used to say 'theres a knack to starting these'

Don't understand the Trophy making Mrs.Buzzer sick, I thought firm was better. My sister usually gets car sick but was ok doing 350 miles non-stop in my Cup.
You need a page showing your workshop.. making your own sills and everything..

Made mine to get a bit more familiar with using Wordpress. Content was supposed to be regularly updated but sadly its fallen by the wayside lately but there are plans to revive it.

It's a forum for American Car & Truck owners and mostly made up of people who were banned from some of the original UK/US forums for the usual shenanigans.
A few people on here are members over there but it is for idiots and NSFW.

How difficult/time consuming is that site to maintain and how complex to build. I am wanting to do something similar for a completely unrelated community but haven't a clue where to start!
I run a website primarily concerned with portraiture. It is a little time consuming but I enjoy running it and I find that I do something (slightly) more constructive with my down time.

www.kibice-uk.net My first website dedicated to Polish football, this led to all sorts of drunken shenanigans around Europe and forged some very close friendships. I don't really bother updating it any more.
http://www.polishresettlementcampsintheuk.co.uk/ This is my mums website which I set up for her. It was like pulling teeth in the early days but she's now 71 and is quite capable at updating it herself so my input is now minimal. It even spawned a book.

The site is hosted by another web hosting company now and they have little input once it's up and running.
As an administrator, you get all the fun and hassle of vetting new sign ups to keep the ever present spammers away, stopping things kicking off and keeping things as legal as you can.
Overall, it's been very worthwhile. What we do is a bit niche within the scene but I've made a lot of good friends and most of us get together in the summer on a regular basis for the drag racing and the shows.
Not really a website... just a blog that I occasionally add something bike related to. Been there nearly a month!
