Lost my wedding ring
Discussion
I know the feeling. I lost my wedding ring last year. Turned the house and garage upside down looking for it, but as it had been bin day resigned myself that it had ended up in there and was now in the landfill somewhere.
It turned up a few weeks later when I was doing some work in the garden, put my gloves on and there it was at the bottom of the finger in the glove.

Like a clown with sharp teeth, but that's not important right now.I know the feeling.
Mrs C lost her wedding ring in the garden and after a few months I decided to make an honest woman of her and bought another.
A couple of years later guess what surfaced while she was digging and weeding ?
Its not all good.
She inherited a solitaire diamond ring from my mother and lost the stone somewhere in the supermarket. We never found that.
Good luck with the search.

I will have been married for a year next week, and frankly I'm amazed I haven't lost my ring yet. I take it off if I settle for more than a few moments, I've never really ever got to the point I can't feel it there.
Anyway, I took measures, I chose a very cheap ring, made from titanium for strength and well, cheapness from a high street chain that's in most towns - so I've never more than a few miles, and £50 from a replacement.

How do you lose a ring 'somewhere' between Nottingham and Tiverton???
Presumably you were in a car, so either it is in the car, or you spent the entire journey throwing random objects out of the window and accidentally included your ring in one jettison.
If you were walking, it would take somewhere in the region of a week to cover the distance, so you would have missed the ring at some point on the journey and could narrow the search area down further.
A bike would be a couple of days...
Even if you were on a motorbike and stopped, for example, 5 times along the way that would still narrow the search down to five locations rather than a blanket 'Nottingham to Tiverton'
They can't find a flipping jet plane with half the Australian navy searching for it, what chance have we got??
Anyway, best of luck finding it. (have you checked down the back of the sofa?)

Well, I'm pretty sure I had it on before I started loading up the car in Nottingham. I absent-mindedly play about with it all the time so I don't think it would have disappeared much earlier. We drove down to Tiverton, stopping only at Michaelwood Services on the M5.
As I unloaded the car in Tiverton I realised it had gone.
So it must have come off when packing the car, at the services possibly when pulling my phone out or something, or when we were unloading. I've searched the car, around our house and I scoured the road where we unloaded as soon as I realised. Nothing's been handed in at the motorway services either.

I'll admit you this thread was a bit of a long shot but I'm out of ideas...

It's bloody annoying. I haven't taken it off in almost five years and it's never fallen off on its own. I must have lost weight.

Nearly lost mind in a meat mincer, as I was feeding it my hands where in chilled beef ,my fingers shrunk as they do , heard a clink down the neck of the feeder, instantly stopped the machine, luckily.
Is that a euphemism?
Are you a gynaecologist?
I recently had rather a hot curry. I didn't lose my ring, but it may have caught fire.

I lost my wedding ring a year ago, haven't replaced it yet.
It was first 'lost' in Egypt in a hotel swimming pool but a sharp eyed chap cleaning it saw it and returned it to me the next day.
Then I left it in a house we rented in Italy on another holiday and it was posted back to me.
Finally it went missing on the same day I took stuff to the Tip. Gone.
Been married 8 years and will eventually replace it - probably do so on a second Honeymoon celebration-type thing one Anniversary.

Don't worry, these things always turn up, for example....
The daughter of a guy I work with lost one diamond earring which she'd been given for her 18th birthday, happily it turned up 4 days later when their dog went out to the garden for a dump
She cleaned it up in hot water, only to find that the setting had badly discoloured - as they were under a year old, she returned them and complained, and was given a new pair.
