Not lived their for 6 years now.

letter there for me in my name, she says it looks like a nasty one

Google is not really giving me answers

Reason I was asking I've been getting random calls on my mobile from a debt collection company for someone who is not me.

and letters from a debt collection company to some who has never lived at my parents.

Even if it was a debt collection company, you are far better to write back and tell them that the person they're looking for isn't you and isn't at the address. If you ignore contacts like that, they tend to assume that you are avoiding the issue, rather than trying to resolve it.

There's nothing in a letter that actually hurt you, you know that, right?!

Call debt collection company, ask for manager, tell them it's starting to become harassing and they will stop. An ex GF of mine was once chased for a statute barred debt she'd run up around the time her Dad had died - they threatened her with court. I called, spoke to the manager, pointed out that such threats were invalid and in fact illegal, and we never had a problem again - you just need to be firm.

It's up to you of course but personally I'd rather tackle that head on rather than try to avoid them, erstwhile looking guilty. Have you checked your credit rating on Experian recently incase someone has black-balled your addresses? That'll make getting mortgages and new cars fun...
