Euromillions lottery lucky dips

When I play I usually get a lucky dip ticket but I have noticed that on some of these tickets one of the lucky star numbers is a duplicate of one of the main five numbers.

From what I understand about the draw there are only 49 balls in the machine from which the numbers are drawn, if this is the case a lucky dip ticket where any of the lucky star numbers are duplicates is an invalid ticket as it could never win.

Is my understanding of this correct and should the lottery people be refunding me some money?

Appreciate any comments.

The lucky stars come from a separate pot, unlike the bonus ball on the normal lottery afaik
