parcel from China disappeared

just wondering if anyone has had experience of this situation before.
Ordered parts from China- through Ebay, waited well over a month for delivery.
Nothing arrived, so opened an item not delivered case with ebay.
Although it is still shown as "in transit" on the ebay system the seller then sends tracking information from 17track.net showing that the parcel arrived at my local sorting office and is shown as "delivered" on their system a couple of weeks ago..... which starts making me think I am not going to get anywhere with ebays refund policy as the tracking system states that it has actually been delivered....

Topic is misleading for a start. Country of origin is irrelevant, but I know what you are trying to infer...
Was the item supposed to be signed for on delivery? If so ask for the electronic proof of delivery - if this cannot be provided then you will get your money back from PayPal.
Otherwise that's the risk you take with any delivery service that does not include proof of handover - nothing to do with what you bought (except perhaps that someone in the chain decided they wanted to steal it) or where it came from.

If its not signed for at the point of delivery then it will be marked as delivered at the point it is handed over to HMRC/post office, ive had stuff held up for import inspection and taxation for weeks before.
As said the country of origin has nothing to do with it, HMRC will hold onto it in a warehouse until they get around to opening it up and checking the contents and adding their fee onto it.

The pda's us posties have can track where it was clicked as delivered however you need the item number also was it sent special delivery,recorded,tracked or just ordinary?

Have a look in sheds, in/behind bins etc so see if your postie signed for it and hid it thinking he was doing you a favour also try your neighbours.
Hopefully you'll find it hidden somewhere if not phone your local delivery office and complain, they can talk to the postie who delivers to you and find out what he's done with it.
I didnt think it woul show up on the royal mail website but it does and using the royal mail website all it states is -
"Your item with reference RCxx824xxxCN was delivered from our xxxxxx Delivery Office on 06/05/14 .
Thank you for using our Royal Mail Signed For™ service"
so i will have to call them today and see if they have any further information.

well, I have spoken to royal mail and they state that the package WAS signed for and have sent me an email of the signature which is just a rough cross, no letters of anything recognisable.
The girl on the phone said that they do not have any further information stored regarding where the package was signed for and if I didnt recieve it the sender must have made a mistake on the address on the packaging, which /i find extremely unlikely as they have quoted my address several times.
Seems like a ridiculous system... amystery person has alledgedly signed for a parcel, but royal mail have no idea who signed or where they signed for it....

just to update, girl from royal mail checked the drivers gps and aksed me to describe the front of my house... green compostie door and green roller garage door...she then said that the house the package wasdelivered to had a brown door and brown wooden garage door too.....The girl on the phone said that they do not have any further information stored regarding where the package was signed for and if I didnt recieve it the sender must have made a mistake on the address on the packaging, which /i find extremely unlikely as they have quoted my address several times.

I have been instructed to ask the sender to make a claim under "signature denial"
which doesnt sound good to me at all...
Similar problem here, parcel from Hong Kong (despatched 8 weeks ago, contains a 240V AC to 24V DC power supply) has thus far failed to arrive. However, my Chinese tracking number is met with the following message from Royal Mail's website:

Information on your Royal Mail Signed For™ item is not yet available[/i]
This same message crops up for any random combination of numbers that I put into the tracking number (e.g. RB123456789CN etc instead of the real one). Changing the "RB" or "CN" brings up "There is no data available...".
I'm just going to keep prodding the sender until they do something about it as I can't face dealing with Royal "Nothing is our fault, ever" Mail!!

It looks a bit spammy but is the only one I have found that actually works, Royal Fails tracking site is utterly turd.

Local dely office is best because a manager can go and ask the actual postman rather than constant messages going back and forth.
It could be he's left it with a neighbour and forgot to fill a card out to let you know or he's put it in your shed/garage.
