Has anyone experienced problems with cancelling their subscription to Which?

I have 5 identical emails from Matt McEnroe saying:

[quote=Which? email]Thanks for your email. I'm sorry to hear that you've decided to cancel your subscription to Which?.

We are really keen to help you, however, I haven't been able to locate your subscription from the information you've provided. Could you please email us with your subscription number (this is a letter followed by 8 or 9 numbers, and can be found on the magazine mailing label if you receive a paper copy, or on any correspondence from us). If you don't know this then your full postal address, including the postcode, would be helpful.

As soon as we receive this information we will deal with your request.

Kind regards,

Matt McEnroe

All of which (Which?) I've answered with full details of my home address - I have idea of my membership number.

Has anyone experienced the same problem and if so, what solution did they come up with.

No, regretfully my wife managed to cancel ours very easily. Times are hard and she wanted to save that 4 a month. Bless her.

I had the same problem, I just wrote and emailed them saying I was cancelling my subscription and then stopped the direct debit. Still haven't heard anything from them.

I'd raise the issue with a magazine whose claim to be a "Consumer Champion" and ask them to take it up for you.

Oh,

Wait....

This. Then watch your bank to make sure that they do not keep on taking.

If they do, unleash the dogs of war.

I have this morning cancelled Which subscription that I was not aware I was paying after I thought I had paid a £1 for a one off one months
magazine viewing.......... Apparently the option to cancel the further ongoing monthly subscriptions that will be taken by direct debit from the bank has to be cancelled by the receiver of the first magazine..... Wow one must pay sharp attention to the small detail of that cancellation or else the money will be away as regular as clockwork.

It's my firm opinion that although Which is a consumer champion that organized payment scheme is as sharp as a razor.
Some of the contributors to that magazine are not so sharp & no doubt there is a waiver somewhere in the small print that exonerates any
of the advisors getting into an argument in that they have dropped a clanger in there recomendations.
