Can anyone help please - I am being hassled by someone from the good old US of A regarding an item that he claims he bought from me back in March of this year.
He is demanding the item or his money back.
Only problem is that I haven't sold anything on eBay for years (if at all) - recently advertised a couple of cars but neither sold.
So my problem is this - I have no idea what I am supposed to have sold as the item is no longer listed.
Does anyone out there know how to track back an item to see what it was, how much it sold for, to whom the item was sold &, more importantly, who the seller was as I don't want to find that eBay have refunded money to someone who hasnt actually bought anything from me.
The item number was 270745075725.

FFS it's a bloody scam email - thousands sent every day if you've started replying to his emails then expect lots more!!

I gave a simple answer.....But it seems you think that the best place to ask an ebay question is the general gassing section on a motoring forum that makes you a tad lazy too not even google it yourself ......
You could have tried the lounge - you'd probably get a more tolerant reply - followed by some topic deviation

For info any chunks of text out of the email would have been perfect to insert into googleSame goes for any potential scam email - they've all be used time and time again
These scammers don't tailor their emails to you personally they are mass emails sent out in the hope that someone stupid bites and then they've caught a fish

was that a question or a statement?It's general gassing - car related conversation - have you seen how many sections on this site - why have all the sections if everything gets posted in General Gassing - I only want to read about car stuff hence why I pretty much stay in GG and consequently don't spend much time in the lounge.
If it was a question - can't remember if I ever have - but I'm human and consequently I make mistakes so it's possible
I think you're taking BC comments a little too personally - he has answered your query quite adequately - and with all due respect as said, this isn't really the place for that sort of thing. Google normally throws out the answer anyway.

It was the tried to contact ebay "contact us" that sent me reaching for the FFS
If I had a penny for every scam email I received a day I wouldn't need to work - moral of the story if you are going to put your email address on the internet at least publish as John_SmithAThotmailDOTcom
