Its where someone starts searching out clues as to the real world identity job etc of a poster on here. There have been times when a poster has said something that has upset people and within a couple of hours their place of work or home address is found and posted.

The Reddit/Boston Bomber thing was a good example of amateur sleuthing gone wrong

However more often than not communities are usually quite good at self moderating and when it goes well it can be fantastic.
