Bit nutty but good on him for having a passion and living it. Much better than those who go through lives only ever being 'vanilla'.

For a man living in the 1940s, he is a bit 'lavender' isn't he?

Not sure what him being Ralf's mate has got to do with anything?

Just a little harmless British eccentricity. Seems to please him.

He lives a couple of miles from me in Godmanchester, Huntingdon. I believe my wife went to school with him.

He has been on the TV a fair bit recently. Quite a nice chap I think, rather softly spoken though.

Ironically no one in the 1940s had a 70-year-old carpet.

I honestly did not know that.
On a serious note, I like this. Talks a lot of sense about the speed and throwaway nature of today's society.

If he really wants to live the 1946 lifestyle he should be walking everywhere, have virtually no new clothes, and he should be eating crap food. He is seriously over-romanticising post war Britain.

Still, he's doing no harm so why take the piss.

I'd kill for house with proper fireplaces, original range, sash windows and Art Deco features. Good on him.

There's a feller in Lincoln who's a bit like this. Waxed moustache and old school bike are the order of the day. Good for them I say.
