Harris tweed jacket - for my Dad

First post in General Gassing - normally hang out in the Noble thread. Hello all.

I know some of you guys (and gals) must be able to help. I'm looking to get my Dad a nice tweed jacket for his birthday and wondered if there was any advice on where I should go shopping?

He's in his 70s now and a bit conservative.. so something classic and good quality would be perfect. Budget up to 500, so probably off the peg and not Savile Row tailor made.

Any ideas to help? Muchas gracias!

I've not got a Taransay (can't remember which one, but it's very similar), but apart from the quality of the jacket the colours in in weave in direct sunlight are amazing.

Seconded. They don't have everything online but you can visit one of their stores or speak to them for good, solid advice.
