C U next tuesday

I'm from Glasgow though, and up here it's an insult and a 'friendly saying'..... just depends on how much venom you put behind it.

When they call you "pal" you're in trouble.

When I worked with some Glaswegians:

GTF Tadge = Good morning old chap, how are you?

GTF Tadger = fk off !

Any help?

Rhymes with Shunt...it's like a verbal punch in the jaw.

Plus people from other countries get very upset over it. Apart from the Aussies, who use it probably more than we do.

I must admit it's a part of glasgow I like when visiting... watching the vocabulary of a previously polite friend change after he moved up is entertaining biggrin. Hearing someone yell "Ya wee of a bridge" has to be one of my more favoured moments.

Most of my swearing has been directed at inaminate objects for daring to fall over recently. "F*** you up the a*** with a broom handle" is popular. Why, I do not know. I'm polite to actual people.

bks is my favourite, not too sweary, but to the point but not in a horrid way.

I'm not a fan of the one that starts with a c and is part of the female anatomy as I think it rather a horrid word, however it is definately to the point.

I don't blaspheme, I hate it, even though I'm not religious, I think it is because I was brought up in a religious family and I still like to respect religious beliefs that other have.

Family friendly one to use is Pants - can be said with varying degrees of venom

Outside the family environment, a short and percussive t**t usually suffices

When it comes to insults, I like to be creative and put some effort in - wkspanner, fkpig, horse molester are some of my favourites and if really emotional I will tend to alliterate - cat cottager and the like

All very cathartic, and I like to think that the people I insult appreciate me making the effort rather than just resorting to stock insults biggrin
