Ok, so I had to dig out the de-icer from the boot this morning.

The radio presenter said it was the "coldest night of the year".

I just hate that - I've got news for them, because February 16th 2014 (that was this year, wasn't it?) was colder than 5th November.

Just a pet hate of mine.

Sad really - must go back to checking if I've got a "rear diff"..

So you heard that and then spent time going off to check it!

You really must have a sad little life if you care that much to go and check the authenticity of a quite frankly less than important statement.

Not only that but you then decided to share this particular gem with us.

Can we please start the smug 'you have to scrape the front screen' remarks now?

I'll start the ball rolling as I do have a heated front screen.

You mean you have to scrape the windscreen? roflgetmecoat

No the OP's was without a doubt much sadder. I was commenting on a post that really shouldn't have been a post, but was, so opened itself up to opinion.

Agreed, the op's post might appear a little nerdy but summing up someone's entire existence by saying "you really must have a sad little life" is unnecessary.

Why bother? That's not going to change the facts is it?

No but it would put me in my place for having such a lowly car as to not have pre heating. biggrin

You mean you leave your cars outside?

Meh, I keep mine in a carpeted, heated, climate controlled garage with TV, cocktail bar and an en suite.

Heated screens? Who needs 'em!?

We have only a double garage, so some of the cars have to stay outside. cool

You mean you only have one car? laugh

You mean when you buy an additional car, you don't erect an additional garage?

My, that's like hiring some more kitchen porters without having the necessary quarters (made that mistak once - never again! Can't have my staff in the gatehouse cottage.

OP is fully justified. All this poorly researched claptrap spouted by the media is bloody annoying. ( But not as annoying as people that say "revert back" )

I get my driver to de-ice mine while my butler makes me some toast and coffee. Peasant's the lot of you, not fit to lace my shoes!

Of course, I'm only referring to my car because of the thread. Mostly i commute via my helicopter that is parked on the landing pad next to the penthouse suite when I'm in the UK. I sometimes take the car just to remind me of my roots and get a reality check by mixing with the riff raff. bowtie

I have a boy to sit in my car at 3am and gently warm the leather and interior gently with latent body heat.
