I don't want to get too soppy , but my kids have really made my life. They are 6 and 4 , girls and boy ,and I totally underestimated what joy it would be to cherish , love and nurture.
Has anyone else felt this?

I love mine because I can legitimately use Parent and Child spaces at Supermarkets.

Let the child-free PHers commence hehe

I've got a ten year old. He's great but I am getting upset at the school fees, and his constant demands for trainers.

Do any other PHers care about this (at all?)

Send him to a state school in bare feet. Job done.

To the OP. Yup, it is my 14 year old daughter's birthday today. We are settling down for a chilled evening of pizza and film with her 12 yo brother and my very happy wife. Daughter is having friends over tomorrow, so not just family for her birthday.

Without going too mumsnet, right now I think life is about as good as it can get for me and I really don't need anything more

Except for the glass of red I have just been handed.

Family; enjoy it if you can, I know not everyone is so lucky.

(Edited for clarity, I hope)

You let her marry a woman? At 14?

My nipper is 15 months old. I walked in from a st day at work today, he ran from one end of the house to the other with arms open, I picked him up and he gave me a little kiss.

Doesn't get any better.

My daughter will be 21 in a few weeks. She buys me beer at the pub sometimes.

My cat does the same. Plus he is cheap to run, we can still go away when we want, he doesn't want expensive toys, he doesn't wake up in the middle of the night, and he's been toilet trained since we got him at 8 weeks old.

My nipper is 15 years old. I walked in from a st day at work today, he ran from one end of the house to the other with arms flailing, and shouted "Dad, you're a stupid old fart, you don't understand anything, why don't you just fk off and die".

Doesn't get any worst.
