I also have a beard but grew it 20 years ago and decided to keep it.
Working in London, it seems everyone has one and mostly the big lumberjack variety. Looks best with neatly oiled hair, too short jeans with turn ups and shoes with no socks. It's a ridiculous fashion that cannot end soon enough.

I noticed a lot of 'hipster' beards on men when I worked in Manchester City centre. I used to associate men with beards beards doing stuff; chopping trees, military men, Peter Sutcliffe.
Now they seem to be on men bringing you a ciabatta, served on a slate or non-plate type thing.
Off topic, this really bugs me.Now they seem to be on men bringing you a ciabatta, served on a slate or non-plate type thing.
Loads of places serve food on wooden chop board type things, absolutely hate it and they give me a weird look when I ask for it on a plate.
Back on topic, I've had a beard/goatee on off for the last few years.

I agree. There's just far too many of these d
heads walking around London now, thinking they are unique and special just because they have got a beard like everybody else. They look like something from a '70s porn set.i've shaved 5 times in the last 4 years, 4 for movember and once a couple of weeks ago as i had the chance to have a cut throat shave and fancied the novelty of it.
usually just keep it trimmed short but have been challenged by a few colleagues to see who can grow the biggest/best/most horrendous beard. mine looks piss poor so far, the others are going to be zz top and uncle albert i'm sure.
