Black Tie with black dress shirt

Any thoughts welcome. I normally wear a black bow tie with white dress shirt at formal evenings but was thinking of wearing a black dress shirt with black bow tie.

Thought this forum would best as I will eating and drinking

I think its a difficult combination to pull off.. as all the blacks will be a little different.

But if I had a legal question I have a choice of forums, one of which is very clearly for legal questions. May get confused if my question was about a legal question about a restaurant!

Thought about that and you have a point. I probably wear a dinner suit around 10 times a year and for sure at more formal events it's a white shirt every time but we have one on Saturday that anything appears to be okay. I am not that sure how I ended up with a black dress shirt in the wardrobe in the first place can't remember wearing it but to be honest with a few bottles of red down my neck I don't remember much anyway
