I don't mean powerfully built types but the genuinely huge, obese whale people that you see on the TV "Fat person gets help but ultimately stays fat" type programme.

Most, if not all are on benefits and live with people who are likewise yet they get four or five takeaways (delivered) a week and have a fridge and cupboards rammed full of (admittedly farm foods type) food.

A takeaway delivery is not cheap so how do they afford it all?

When you don't have to cook or earn a living you have plenty of time on your hands, this time is used for earning money to spend on takeaways.

you have to remember that these people hardly move as well, so whatever they eat is usually retained.

and I'm no expert but I would assume that the sort of healthy st that passes through your digestive system quickly is generally avoided.

add to that gallons of cheap fizzy pop.

they are as tactically fat as some people are tactically slim.

baffling though as when I start to feel a bit sluggish the first thing I do is cut back, these people clearly see being fat as a good thing.

Have you not seen the adverts for Iceland? When everything is a £1 you can eat a lot for very little.

Chavsda. My local asda has the biggest crisp and sweets/chocolate aisle vice ever seen and it's all cheap. Asda caters for these people I reckon. I tried to find sugar in there once. Usually this is found in the baking aisle next to eggs and flour maybe? Not in asda! It's next to the Frosties because everyone knows Frosties need more sugar.

I hear you though. A takeaway isn't exactly cheap. Perhaps they don't actually eat? The obese guy in work tells me he never eats. Although he does rate the "all you can eat Chinese" for £6 highly. rolleyes

Supermarket food is cheap. Think how big a bag of doughnuts you can get for a quid at your local supermarket.

Takeaways is one I've never entirely understood though. If I have go to the chippy it's about £11/12 for two of us and I wouldn't want to do that several times a week and I'm on a decent enough salary.

There by choice, they take proactive steps towards it.

I've wondered that too. I'd have to eat more than my appetite (several times over) just to go overweight.

No. They consciously decide NOT to take enough steps to avoid it. rolleyes

I'm pretty sure that some people choose to be very, very obese to make themselves disabled for Motability, other money and so on.

Sadly I actually think there are. Not all fat people are like that though.

Don't worry, I am old enough (i'm over 10) to understand all people aren't alike wink

I can understand getting fat by not doing enough exercise and consuming lots of great tasting food and drink, but making yourself purposely fat (ill) is a bit beyond comprehension for me.

No, not at all. But it's the complications around overdoing it, lack of a sense of satiation, boredom, etc that add to the mix.
