Having one more go at posting this! Amazing amateur musician
Discussion
Well folks, I lost my rag a bit yesterday after trying to post this 3 times and falling foul of some sort poorly executed repost filter whihc resulted in my posts being removed.
No harm done and since I still think some / many of you might enjoy this musician's brilliance I'm giving it one last go. We shall see.
I stumbled upon FretKillr on YouTube a few years ago when I had just started to learn guitar. Since then he has been both an inspiration and of course a source of great depression to me - inspiration because he is so bloody talented and a source of depression because I will never ever attain even 1% of his skills either on the guitar of vocally.
For those of you who don't know about him, despite being astonishingly talented (better than many professionals in his genre in the opinion of many) he steadfastly refused to declare who he was. In fact it has been a long running debate in certain circles as to who he is / was.
His channel was killed off by YouTube a few years back because apparently many artists were cheesed off by the quality of his innovative song covers. He resurfaced with another channel a couple of years ago (FretKillrlives) but it soon became dormant sadly.
The good news is that his clips live on because they were so brilliant that many people downloaded them and re-uploaded them after they disappeared.
Any one else on here a big fan?
Couple of examples to give you a flavour of his playing skill and his voice. Enjoy!

Here is what he said about himself on his channel:-
I post my performance videos to provide enjoyment to anyone who loves to play or listen to the guitar. I'm a self-taught musician who has learned to play primarily by listening to recordings and through self-discovery. My love of folk, blues, bluegrass, country, rock, ragtime, and jazz has been the catalyst for teaching myself to be a proficient flatpicker and fingerpicker. My youtube videos employ a close-up view of my performances to maintain anonymity. They are provided solely for entertainment and not intended as instructional information. I'm not promoting any live appearances and not marketing any recordings, downloads, or music notations. I play by ear and do not use or have music or tabs or create any tutorials. Students of the guitar can gain some knowledge from keen observation of my clips. I'm not available to reply to messages or questions and an intermediary maintains my channel. I'm the sole performer on all my videos.

shouldn't this be in the music forum?
Yes, but the OP got a bit annoyed (judging by the thread in Website Feedback and calling the mods Himmler) the last time this thread was moved / deleted, etc, so don't encourage the mods to move it again as he may get a bit upset

Yes I have to admit to falling completely off my Yogic tree the other day. Not like me at all. Combination of factors and feeling suitably chastened as a result.

Agree that some of this guy's stuff is very chilled but you have to admit that his freestyle riffing is pretty impressive. Not sure what this has to be with Roger Whittaker though!

An interesting slant on the spare bedroom YouTube guitarist, but from the few of those I clicked on I didn't see or hear anything which really blew me away. I doubt he was a professional musician under some secret guise.
indeed, there's nothing there that makes me think Tommy Emmanuel or Nick Harperhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6lbvSBNLLoo
It's rather more of a level of a bloke I knew who used to take his guitar down the pub on a Monday night and we'd have a bit of a sing.
