Gift idea for somebody I don't know ?!
Discussion
Hi All,
Long story short, I purchased a new home back end of summer and the owner of the property, who I never met (vacant house), has been the most helpful chap via email ever since the purchase.
I guess he never really needs to help but I have been having problems with all sorts of things and he replies to my enquiries via email and 99% of the time, it saves me time and money...rather than calling out trades men or figuring things out!!
I want to buy him a little thank you gift and send it to him.
All I know is:
Successful architect (retail/commercial)
Not short of a few bob - classic cars, super car, holiday homes etc.
I'm going to guess he is aged between 45-50
What would you send a thank you gift, along with a thank you card?
Budget: £50-£100.

A River Thames trip either with afternoon tea or dinner depending on how much you want to spend. I use this as my default present to relatives and anybody else I know and everyone who we've given it to has thoroughly enjoyed it. And a friend who we gave this to Xmas 14, gave the same back to us Christmas 15 saying they enjoyed it so much they thought they'd return the favour

In a similar vein, tea at the Ritz is a really good experience. Last time we went it was about £120 for two.
Of course if you/he aren't anywhere near London then a local smart hotel will offer afternoon tea vouchers. BTW hotels love the voucher idea, in that they rely on a certain percentage not turning up or using the voucher - hence extra profit. But this is me being cynical

Which one?
I have no idea of what he likes?
I'm not a wine drinker, is there a universally recognised wine which is thought of a special?

Oh sorry, I also don't drink wine but when selecting a "good one" I just go and see which one is more expensive.... Not much help to you.I have no idea of what he likes?

Given you don't know whether he likes whiskey or wine etc id be tempted to stick with something you know he does like (and presumably you do too).
I'd look for a polished metal model classic car, Art Deco style or something like that.
That is a great idea, just the sort of thing I couldn't think of myself!I'd look for a polished metal model classic car, Art Deco style or something like that.

Large format wine or vintage champagne.
EG
Orme de Pez in double mag (4 bottles - looks impressive):

Bottle of Dom Perignon (again looks like the player's choice):

Even if he doesn't drink, he knows someone who does.
