Not everyone will consume the contents of the big box regularly enough before they go stale, or have the cupboard space to store it.
It seems to be a bit of a waste of food opting for the largest in this case, even if it makes better financial sense.
I opted for the largest on the basis that even if I only ate around half it would be good enough to "break even". Though in any event I have now eaten this brand rather more frequently (they really do taste too good.....).It seems to be a bit of a waste of food opting for the largest in this case, even if it makes better financial sense.
Cereal is a good example, I bought some branded cereal from one of the discounters because it looked like a good price , when I got it home I was surprised to find the box was very slightly smaller so it looked like a better deal but in fact was the same price.
Then it dawned on me , branded products are boxed to whatever the supermarket wants rather than standard sized
Like TV retailers offering find it cheaper deals but then selling the same Branded TV with a different part number so you can't price check it
It's all about the legal con

I'm an estimator for an engineering company. One of our customers always asks for a price matrix for different quantities.
As certain costs are fixed regardless of quantities manufactured I have to be very careful not to create a 'Middle' where a customer will be better off buying a larger quantity for less money and throwing half in the bin.
