Cruising past Cambs the other day when two ECO buses (still not sure how that works but hey ho) went past me. Now, I was pleased to see them both completely devoid of passengers............

Good to see the Eco mentalists are right then eh?

Two diesel powered buses with no-one on them and also a whole diesel train with only three people on it came past me today.
So what?

I fail to see your point?

Explain to me how them being non-eco would help them get passengers?

Bus arrives at station....

'Not getting that eco-bus, I'll wait for the next polluting diesel one to turn up'

Bus drives off...

How strange.

More that the transport policy is to try and get us out of our nice comfy cars and onto their fume laden buses.

Maybe the transport policy is to offer a clean alternative for those who either dont have their own car, or dont wish to use it?

Or is the whole concept of 'public transport' a novelty to you? They do planes and trains, buses, trams, all sorts of different ways of getting around with someone else driving. Amazing huh?

Buses near me (big Red ones biggrin ) Are now Hybrids. And even the Diesel ones are Low emission Zone regulated. Generally not too bad IME

I'm NO fan of Diesel. But the worst things on the road these days are white vans made before about 2008. Followed closely by retards in the 1.9TDI cars who do sod all mileage, and no motorway work, so they never get cleared out and chuck out shed loads of black crap when they accelerate.

The UK provincial bus system is a bit random so no one uses it, it's not to do with the fuel type.

I have to say I do not know what qualifies them for "Eco" or the green paint, but they looked like (and smelt) like they were not quite clean.....

Presumably cleaner than an empty, normal bus.

Win all round, really.

It's working though, because people are deciding not to travel and as a result are reducing pollution. The problem is nobody has told the bus company
