According to my phone it's 3c. It's also pretty windy, so I'm guessing the temperature is probably around 1c. Weather to wrap up in you'd think.

Yet on my travels today, I've seen at least 4 people (all men) with the above attire. They were all wearing big coats, and two had beanie hats, so they were clearly aware of the chilly conditions. Yet judging by the bottom half you'd think they were in the Bahamas!

Am I missing something? confused

I was wearing shorts in the pub on Friday night, although I was playing the drums, so a breeze around the nether regions is always a bonus..

Rugby players seem to favour this for some reason.

I tend to wear a Tshirt until the temperature is about freezing (either actually or because of the wind). I do not however wear shorts!

A guy I volunteer with always wears shorts in all weathers whether it be -5 or 30'c. In the year and half I've known him I've never seen him wear a pair of trousers.

I wear shorts to work all year round. I wear overalls at work and it's just easier to put them on over shorts rather than have either two pairs of trousers on or chuff about swapping clothes around at work.

I realise I probably look an utter berk de-icing the car on cold winter mornings but there you go.

Whilst I don't tend to feel the cold on my legs or feet, I will wear jeans and proper footwear in the winter, mainly because I'd feel a bit of a tit wandering around outside in shorts and flip flops at near freezing temperatures, not because I would get cold.

I did bootcamp a few weeks ago, outside in -3 in my shorts, our yoga mats had a layer of frost on them, I had a long sleeved top on a hoody and gloves, my legs were bare and I wasn't once cold.

As I actually prefer to be barefoot I don't wear anything on my feet around the house; not even socks, if I need to pop out I will usually put flip flops on, no matter the weather and I'll happily put the bins out barefoot no matter how cold it is, the Sainsburys food shop delivery driver remarked; a few weeks ago, that my feet must have been freezing when I had gone outside to get the delivery in as I was barefoot.

I wear shorts and tshirt most days, but then most days I don't leave the house. If I go out but not further than the front garden I'll just stick a coat on, it's only fear that someone will start a PH thread about my exposed legs that stops me going further.

I wore shorts & flip flops on Friday evening.

But, I am in Houston and my external temperature gauge thingy said this all the way home.

Can't wait for July when it's about 110 and humid silly

  • lose
The notion that you lose heat from different parts of your body at different levels is a myth.
