A word you hear on TV and films but in real life everyone I hear using adjectives says "fk".

Yep, certainly in NI as a low level swear. Also as a technical term for when you bypass or fudge something.

Yes as above, a "lower level" swear word.

Though ATM I am trying to use fiddlesticks etc instead.

I was mid-teens at school when the Sex Pistol's Great Rock n Roll Swindle film and movie came out. For about a year after, the only expletive my mates and I used was frig / frigging.

Iffy film but catchy final credits 'Frigging in the Rigging'. Fun times. Here's the clip (NSFW):

A mild swear word and also used as a term for female masturbation, here in the north that is.

I tend to use it when something homewise involves epoxy resin and/or gaffer tape.

I use the term "frig" rather than "ing fking pissflaps" when in polite company e.g. at the Queens Summer Garden Party when I realise I've spilt the contents of a vol-au-vent down the front of my tracksuit top.

Around Belfast and Lisburn, it seems to be used as commonly as "bloody". Cant remember the last time I heard it being used in the mainland, besides referring to sharks and lasers.
