The school where I work, which shall remain nameless, has decided that if any students get stressed out about their upcoming exams we are having a room set aside for a day next week where, for a donation of 2 quid, they can book a 10 minute slot to hug a fking puppy!!!
Why the fk can't they just man up?!!!furious

If I wrote that on the side of my van it could turn into a nice little earner.

I work in a school as well. I can believe it. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if it was seen as a beacon of best practice and used as a model for others to follow.

Great way to spend what little money there is in the system thumbup

To be fair though i'd love it if there was a room at work full of puppies I could go into every now and again.

As long as it's teachers and not going all Adam Johnson then you'd shouldn't get in too much trouble.

It get's worse the older they get, Universities now having 'safe spaces', 'No platforming' people with ideas they don't like and censuring students for the slightest hint of 'cultural appropriation' or the current cardinal sin, transphobia.

We're raising generation snowflake, who must be protected from anything that might make them grow up cause alarm or distress.

Reading the link I notice the puppies are trainee guide dogs. I wouldn't be surprised if this was mutually beneficial and was part of their training to become used to interaction with strangers and different situations plus helps raise funds for them?

Queue up in an orderly fashion, £2 in the box, take a blindfold, squeeze his leg tight.

Can we have a room with kittens too?

Then we can hug some puppies and afterwards stroke some....

well, you probably get the idea.

Sounds good to me. My only worry would be all the teachers in there all day hogging the pups!

Hug a real puppy, for £2... Hmmm. When I was a kid there was a bloke on our estate who'd let you stroke his puppies for nowt.

I don't think there's much wrong with the proposal in the op, that fell on our estate did time though and then disappeared.

Pet therapy has been a thing for a while now in old peoples homes and rehab centres.

I thought you going on to say ...just for that pupil to take their exams.

In the school a family member works in, they're currently at 30 kids who have produced a doctors letter saying they have to take exams on their own due to anxiety.

The school doesn't have 30 rooms, never mind the staff to supervise them!

I think it's an ok idea, especially for those without access to animals in the home. Pets have been proven to be good at reducing stress levels. I think cats would be better at this than puppies though.
