Need a bit of creative thinking.

It's my OH's 50th birthday in June and I'm struggling with something special to buy her.

She's always admired Astons so am going to book her the Aston experience at Thruxton. But what else?

She like jewellery and I bought her a nice white gold and diamond cross for her 40th so I could down a similar route. But I was thinking of getting her something relating to her birthstone, which is either pearl or alexandrite.

She's not really into pearls (yes, including necklaces!!!) so I Googled alexandrite and a) it seems as rare as rocking horse manure and b) it's effing expensive!!

Anybody got any ideas?

Take her to some aston events?

Bonhams do an auction in May at the old factory. You can buy a lunch package, have a look round the auction. The workshops are open too. And have a wonder round the side streets: parked nose to tail astons and lagondas on a normal side street. Great to see!!

The day after the aston club ard having their spring auction at duxford. Why not combine you wifes love of astons with old aircraft?? biggrin

Or aston at le mans?

3rd july is the aston at burgley house (see the aston forum on hee) which is free to see the cars. Bring a picnic.

Of course, if you really love her..

This + diamond earrings to match the cross. Maybe combine the night away with the Aston experience?

I did that for my wife's 50th, cost 750 quid and you could have had the same experience by scrolling very slowly over Google maps while someone points a blowtorch at the top of your head

Wow, that's expensive, my other half paid £120 for hers. I refuse to go up in a wicker basket.
